At about 1:29am Saturday morning, Turlock Police responded to shots fired in the 100 block of Baylor Avenue.

When officers arrived on scene, they found that a known gang residence had been struck by several rounds of gunfire and found several different casings of two different caliber guns in the alleyway.

While processing the scene, dispatch received a call reporting a suspicious person in the McDonald’s parking lot who had been seen quickly changing his clothes and then walking over to the Citibank parking lot, where he watched officers from.

Officers contacted the man, later identified as Amado Escobedo, 18, of Ceres, in the 2100 block of Geer Road and found that he was carrying two concealed and loaded handguns. One was registered to a man out of Ceres, while the other was unregistered.

Ceres Police attempted to contact the owner of the registered gun at his residence, however, didn’t get an answer at the door.

Escobedo’s fingers were swabbed for gunshot residue. The test results are still pending.

Escobedo was then arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on four counts of carrying a concealed firearm and two counts of carrying a loaded firearm.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information that could assist in it is encouraged to call Officer Marquez at 209-668-1200.
