SIU detectives serve dual search warrants Wednesday that lead to the discovery of over one thousand pounds of marijuana

On Wednesday, November 4th, 2020, at approximately 9:05 am, Turlock Police detectives apart of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) served a search warrant in the 1000 block of S Tegner Rd, acting on a tip received from the department’s drug hotline.

The search warrant resulted in the discovery of nearly 300 individually packaged and processed one-pound bags of marijuana and 17 marijuana plants. Evidence located from the investigation at that residence uncovered that a second location in the 1100 block of Angelus St was affiliated with it. SIU detectives authored a second search warrant for it and served it later that day, at approximately 1:50 pm.

At that residence, SIU detectives located over 250 marijuana plants along with a substantial amount of marijuana that was partially processed and being dried. SIU detectives also located over 30 individually packed and processed one-pound bags of marijuana, which was consistent with the processed marijuana located at the first location.

Although no arrests were made, this is an ongoing investigation and detectives are attempting to identify the responsible individuals who may face charges of marijuana cultivation and possession of marijuana for sale. This illegal growth had an estimated street value of $250,000.
