At about 7:30pm, Turlock Police, Turlock Fire, and American Medical Response responded to an injury vehicle collision in the 900 block of E. Glenwood Avenue.

When units arrived on scene, they found a single vehicle on its side that had crashed into a house, causing major structural damage.

The vehicle’s driver was pinned in and unconscious, but breathing, sticking out of the moon roof.

Firefighters worked to stabilize the vehicle and extricate the driver, who ended up being transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital with major injuries.

He was also arrested for driving under the influence, although Turlock City News currently has no additional information on that as the police department’s public information officers are on vacation.

The Turlock Irrigation District and Pacific Gas and Electric Company responded to the scene to secure utilities, while the Modesto Fire Department provided city coverage for the duration of the incident.

Five adults and one child lived in the house. All six were displaced, although none were injured and made it to safety. The American Red Cross responded to assist them.

It’s currently unknown how the collision occurred.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information that could assist in it is encouraged to call Officer Robert Villapudua 209-668-6555.
