Stolen vehicle leads police on high speed pursuit Wednesday night

On Wednesday, October 27th, 2021, at 9:20 pm, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of Lander Ave and W Greenway Ave, Turlock, on-viewed a vehicle commit a violation of the California Vehicle Code. The officer got behind the vehicle and attempted to pull it over by activating his emergency lights, however, the driver decided to not comply and floored it.

The officer initiated a pursuit and chased the vehicle southbound on Lander Ave, through the neighborhood in Hilmar near First St and Lander Ave, and then southbound on Columbus Ave from Bloss Ave. While on Columbus Ave near Turner Ave, the officer lost the vehicle and terminated the pursuit.

A subsequent search of the area yielded no results.

A records check on the vehicle’s license plate revealed that it was a stolen vehicle. The pursuit lasted approximately 10 minutes and speeds reached approximately 100 miles per hour.

The investigation remains on-going.
