Suspect Arrested After Foot Pursuit

A male subject was arrested on Saturday morning after attempting to run from officers as they approached him.

Turlock police approached Roberto Cortez, 36, shortly after 10 a.m. on Saturday on the 400 block of South First Street.

According to Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. Stephen Webb, officers approached Cortez to speak to him about a previous case.

When officers approached Cortez, he ran.

He did not get far, however, and was apprehended near the intersection of Minerva and Center streets.

Cortez was arrested for a violation of parole warrant and resisting arrest.
