Officers arrested a male suspect with a felony drug-related warrant after a witness reported seeing the suspect hide what was believed to be a firearm in some bushes.

Turlock police received the report of a male subject placing a firearm in some bushes at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Dec. 24.

Officers responded to the AMPM at 1801 Lander Ave., where the subject had allegedly placed the firearm.

While enroute, an officer contacted Jasper McCormick, 31, in the 500 block of Linwood Avenue, as he matched the description of the suspect.

Turlock police found that McCormick had a felony drug-related warrant and he was subsequently arrested.

When officers searched the bushes they recovered a knife, but no firearm was located.
