A male suspect was arrested twice within 48 hours for possession of methamphetamine and resisting arrest last week.

Richard Oboyle, 42, was arrested on Jan. 5 and Jan. 7.

On Jan. 5, according to the Turlock Police Department, officers responded to the 2400 block of Geer Road at approximately 5:13 a.m. on the report of a suspicious person.

Officers arrived to the area and contacted a male subject, later identified as Oboyle.

While officers were performing a search of the suspect, Oboyle pulled away from an officer and ran, said Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. Stephen Webb.

Oboyle did not get far however, and was quickly apprehended in the parking lot, said Webb.

Officers found that Oboyle was in possession of methamphetamine, reports the Turlock Police Department.

He was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and resisting arrest on Monday.

Then, on Jan. 7 around 2:45 a.m., officers once again responded to the 2400 block of Geer Road on the report of a suspicious person.

Officers arrived and contacted Oboyle once again, who was trying to discard two knives prior to initial contact, according to Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

Police instructed Oboyle to not reach into his pockets, however the suspect did not obey and continued to reach into his pockets.

Once again, when officers attempted to search Oboyle, he fled on foot. He was apprehended shortly after, however.

Once in custody, a search revealed that Oboyle was in possession of methamphetamine and was subsequently arrested.

He was arrested for the meth and resisting, delaying and obstructing a peace officer on Jan. 7, reports the Turlock Police Department.
