Suspect Flees on Foot After Brandishing Loaded Firearm During Fight

A male subjected is facing multiple gun-related charges after being suspected of brandishing a loaded handgun during a fight on Thursday morning.

The Turlock Police Department received a report of a fight in-progress on the 1000 block of Kenwood Avenue at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Thursday.

According to the Turlock Police Department, one of the subject involved in the fight had brandished a handgun.

When officers arrived, they attempted to contact the group that was on the 1000 block of Kenwood Avenue, but one of the subjects fled on foot.

The fleeing subject, later identified as Frank Martinez, 24, was located by another officer, who had been responding to the scene, in the area of North Olive Avenue.

Martinez was ultimately apprehended after a short foot pursuit, reports the Turlock Police Department.

Officers searched the path that Martinez had run during the pursuit and they found a loaded handgun.

Martinez was arrested and booked on multiple gun-related charges, including felon in possession of a firearm and carrying a loaded weapon, resisting arrest, a PRCS probation violation, and for bringing narcotics into jail.
