Suspect Successfully Flees Police After Series of Pursuits

Turlock police are currently looking for a suspect who was able to flee from authorities following a series of pursuits early on Tuesday.

An officer observed a driver in a white Jeep Cherokee driving recklessly on Lander Avenue at around 1:20 a.m. and attempted to stop the vehicle.

The suspect attempted to flee and a short pursuit ensued, said Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

According to Lewis, the suspect pulled into an alleyway and attempted to flee on foot by jumping fences. While officers were trying to locate the suspect, he was able to make it back into his vehicle and another vehicle pursuit ensued.

The suspect then traveled to a residence on the 500 block of Vermont Avenue. After a period of time, the suspect once again fled in the vehicle.

The Turlock Police Department requested assistance from the Ceres Police Department’s K-9 Unit, however authorities were unable to locate the suspect.

At this time, the Turlock Police Department has identified a person of interest, however his name is not yet being released.
