Suspicious person arrested on felony child abuse warrant Saturday morning

On Saturday, April 15th, 2023, at 9:13 am, a Turlock Police officer near First Baptist Church, 290 W Olive Ave, Turlock, noticed and got out with a suspicious person.

The officer made contact with and identified the man as Delfin Cordova, 32, of Los Banos.

When the officer had his dispatcher run Cordova, he discovered that he had three bench warrants. The first was a $150,000 felony one out of Merced County for child abuse or endangerment under circumstances likely to produce great bodily harm or death, the second was a $10,000 misdemeanor one out of Los Banos for tampering with a vehicle or its contents and loitering or prowling for the purpose of committing a crime, and the third was a $10,000 misdemeanor one out of Merced County for assault and battery.

Cordova was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrants.
