Suspicious vehicle contact leads to arrest of two for three felony warrants Monday night

On Monday, August 22nd, 2022, at 10:35 pm, a Turlock Police officer near QuikStop, 1260 Geer Rd, Turlock, got out with a suspicious vehicle occupied by several people.

The officer made contact with and identified the vehicle’s occupants, including Anthony Humphrey, 41, of Visalia, and Jose Hernandez Cortez, 34, of Bay Point.

The officer then had his dispatcher run the subjects and Humphrey and Cortez returned with warrants. Humphrey had a local felony warrant for burglary, a local misdemeanor warrant for possession of methamphetamines, and a misdemeanor warrant out of Tuolumne County for possession of methamphetamines, theft, and providing false identification to a peace officer, while Cortez had a felony warrant out of Ceres for domestic violence inflicting corporal injury and a local felony warrant for flight from a peace officer with disregard to public safety, domestic violence inflicting corporal injury, and violation of post release community supervision.

Both subjects were arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on their warrants.
