With the summer heat getting warmer each day, Turlock community pools are gearing up for a summer of swim lessons and aquatic programs for students of all ages.

Each year, the City of Turlock Recreation Department provides affordable, quality swim lessons to the community at three local public pools: the Pitman High School, Turlock High School, and Columbia Park pools. The city also offers a variety of swimming programs such as youth water polo and the junior lifeguard program, where children and young teenagers can learn life-saving skills such as CPR or develop fitness.

Swim lessons will be held in four sessions from mid-June to early August. Levels are based on age and skill level, starting from infants to level five. Swim lessons are 30 minutes long, Monday through Thursday, with each session lasting two weeks. Each session costs $76.

The following swim levels will be offered by the City of Turlock:

– Minnow (Infant)
– Tadpole (Toddler)
– Starfish (Preschool)
– Seahorse (Level 1)
– Otter (Level 2)
– Dolphin (Level 3)
– Whale (Level 4)
– Shark (Level 5)
– Beginning Swimmer (ages 9-17)
– Adult

The community pools will also be open for public swimming throughout the summer, starting the weekend of June 15. The Columbia Park pool will be open for recreational swimming from 12:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 12 noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sundays. The Turlock High School and Pitman High School pools will be open for recreational swimming from 12:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
