At about 12:00am Wednesday morning, Turlock Police responded to a vehicle theft at a residence in the 800 block of Flower Street.

The victim reported he suspected that his girlfriend’s adult son, Dominick Lee, 18, of Turlock, had taken his vehicle.

As Officer Marquez was leaving the residence after taking the report, he observed the stolen vehicle drive by.

Marquez attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle, but it accelerated away at a high rate of speed.

A pursuit was initiated which reached speeds of about 60 miles per hour through a residential area.

The vehicle eventually stopped at Chestnut Street and Grant Avenue when the driver realized that he wasn’t going to get away.

A high-risk stop was conducted and the vehicle’s four occupants, including Lee, were detained at gunpoint.

Through the investigation, it was determined that Lee was driving under the influence of alcohol and didn’t have a valid driver’s license.

Lee was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of driving or taking a vehicle without the consent of its owner, fleeing from a peace officer in a vehicle, driving without a valid license, driving under the influence of alcohol, and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08% or greater.

Lee was also issued a driver’s license suspension order and the vehicle was returned to its rightful owner.

Lee’s three passengers hadn’t committed any crimes and were released. The youngest of them was 15.
