On Sunday, October 9th, 2022, at 9:54 pm, a Turlock Police officer near Regal Turlock, 2323 W Main St, Turlock, observed a vehicle doing a burnout and drifting in the parking lot of the business in front of several bystanders, so he attempted to make a traffic stop on it, however, it failed to yield and a pursuit ensued.

The vehicle drove around the outskirts of town and eventually left town southbound on Lander Ave, making its way to Hilmar.

In Hilmar, the vehicle reached speeds of 110 miles per hour. The pursuit was terminated at that point for safety reasons, however, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s airship was able to get overhead just prior to that.

The sheriff’s airship followed the vehicle southbound on Lander Ave through Stevinson and eventually Los Banos.

The vehicle finally stopped for the California Highway Patrol at the intersection of Mercey Springs Rd and Cotton Gin Rd, Los Banos, and its driver, Pedro Peter Cordova, 19, of Turlock, was arrested. The Turlock Police Department responded to Los Banos and took custody of Cordova.

Cordova was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of flight from a peace officer with disregard to public safety, reckless driving, and driving without a valid driver’s license. Additionally, his vehicle was impounded.
