On Friday, December 2nd, 2022, at 8:00 pm, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported aggravated assault that had just occurred at the intersection of N Golden State Blvd and E Olive Ave, Turlock, where a teenager had just been shot.

When crews arrived on scene, they found a victim, which we believe to be a 17-year-old boy, suffering from at least one gunshot wound to his abdomen, and possibly a second to his groin area. He was ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital, his current condition is unknown.

Preliminary information indicates that it was several other teenagers that were responsible for the assault and that they fled on foot northbound afterward, however, that has yet to be confirmed.

The assault happened near the end of the 43rd Annual Turlock Downtown Christmas Parade, just a block away from it. It’s not been confirmed yet if the victim or any of the suspects were in attendance of it or not, and the motive remains unknown.

The investigation remains on-going. Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is encouraged to call Officer Henry Hernandez at 209-668-6534.
