On Saturday, March 11th, 2023, at 7:29 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to reported shots fired at Ace Hardware, 3051 Geer Rd, Turlock.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a handgun casing laying in the middle of the parking lot.

Employee witnesses reported hearing the shot and then seeing five teens running away from the area toward Regis St. Officers reviewed surveillance camera video which showed one of the teens fire off a handgun, possibly toward a vehicle, however, no victims came forward.

Minutes later, at 7:37 pm, an officer near the intersection of Andre Ln and Curt Ct spotted a group of five teens and made contact with them. The group stated that they were walking to a party and another officer was able to confirm that a party was indeed going on. They were determined to be uninvolved.

A short time later, at 8:01 pm, a different officer near the intersection of W Tuolumne Rd and Cottage Park Ln spotted a second group of five teens and attempted to make contact with them. The group took off running from the officer and split off in different directions, beginning to hop fences into backyards. A perimeter was set up and the area was checked with a police drone, however, officers were unable to locate anyone and eventually broke down the perimeter.
