On Sunday, February 19th, 2023, at 5:57 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported stolen vehicle recovery at Target, 3000 Countryside Dr, Turlock.

While officers were responding, they received information that the suspect was the one and only well-known Donald Kando, 43, of Turlock. The victim personally knew Kando and suspected that he had stolen their vehicle two days prior on Friday, February 17th, from the Western View Mobile Ranch located at 1400 N Tully Rd.

The victim had found their stolen vehicle in the Target parking lot and noticed Kando walking toward it. The victim confronted Kando and he handed over the keys and began walking away as if nothing had happened.

Officers quickly arrived in the area and located Kando still in the parking lot.

Kando was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of buying or receiving a stolen vehicle.

Kando had just recently been released from jail prior to this arrest.
