The League of Women Voters of Stanislaus County is sponsoring a Candidates’ Night Forum for the Turlock City Council election. The forum will be held Tuesday, September 30th at 7:00 P.M. at the Turlock.City Hall, 156 S. Broadway.
The League of Women Voters neither supports nor opposes candidates for office. A League member will be the Forum moderator; other League members will collect questions and keep track of time. Each candidate will have:
- 2 minutes for an opening statement. This should include qualifications and reasons for seeking office.
- 1 minute to respond to each question presented. These questions will be submitted by the audience and by telephone from television viewers.
- 1 minute for a closing statement. This statement should include what you hope to accomplish if elected.
Please return the enclosed reply form in the self-addressed, stamped envelope by Monday, September 22nd, 2008.
We are exploring the possibility of taping this forum for later broadcast on local access cable.
