At about 2:05am Thursday, Turlock Police Officer Rocha got out with an occupied suspicious vehicle behind a residence in the 400 block of N. Broadway.
Just prior, Rocha had seen the vehicle with a tail light out trying to avoid him.
Two men and a boy immediately got out of the vehicle and ran.
A perimeter was quickly set up and the three were located hiding in a fenced area behind Fins Customs & Classics in the 500 block of N. First Street.
They were detained without incident.
The three were identified as Brandin Mosby, 25, of Atwater, Tristan Mosby, 22, of Atwater, and a 17-year-old Hispanic boy of Atwater.
The 17-year-old was on juvenile probation out of Merced County.
Rocha believed the vehicle had been stolen as it’d been started with a shaved key and he was unable to turn it off.
Officer Aziz went to the registered owner’s address in the north end of the city and contacted him. He confirmed it was an unreported stolen vehicle that had just been taken.
Brandin, Tristan, and the 17-year-old were all arrested on charges of auto theft, receiving a stolen vehicle, conspiracy, and resisting a peace officer. Brandin and Tristan were booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center, while the 17-year-old was booked into Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall.
The vehicle’s owner responded to Broadway and his vehicle was released to him.
