At about 9:49am Saturday, Turlock Police responded to a shoplifting that had just occurred at Dick’s Sporting Goods in the 2700 block of Countryside Drive.

The caller stated that three subjects had just walked out of the store with unpaid merchandise and were leaving in a vehicle.

Officer De La Cruz located a matching vehicle in the area and attempted to make a traffic stop on it, but it led him on a very brief pursuit to the 2300 block of Trotter Way.

A high-risk stop was conducted and the vehicle’s three occupants were detained at gunpoint. They were identified as Deandre Davis, 29, of Merced, Travis Kovach, 34, of Antelope, and Anaya Harp, 18.

Through the investigation, all three subjects were positively identified as being involved in the larceny.

During a subsequent inventory search of the vehicle, officers located narcotics.

Davis, Kovach, and Harp were all arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of grand theft, fleeing from a peace officer by vehicle, organized retail theft, receiving stolen property, and possession of a controlled substance.
