At about 11:19pm Friday, Turlock Police responded to a weapon offense that had just occurred in the 4500 block of N. Tegner Road.
The caller reported that he and his friends, who were all juveniles, had been riding their bikes and scooters at the dead-end of Tegner when they came across a white pickup truck occupied by multiple subjects. One of the subjects reportedly pointed a laser at the group of juveniles, while the others told them to shoot them.
The group of juveniles then made their way to the nearby Arco AMPM where they called police from.
Officers arrived on scene and located the pickup, occupied by three. As officers approached, all three took off running, but quickly returned and were all detained.
The three subjects were identified as Ethan Mendoza, 19, a 17-year-old female, and a 15-year-old male, all of Turlock.
Alcohol bottles were found on the top of the pickup and the subjects were determined to be under the influence.
During a subsequent search of the area, Officer Nunez located a 9mm Glock 19 handgun dumped in the 3000 block of Golden Oak Court. The gun was clear with no dealer record of sale.
All three were arrested. The two juveniles were released on citations to their respective parents for unknown charges, while Mendoza was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on two counts of carrying a concealed firearm and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Additional charges for the alleged threats were also recommended to the district attorney’s office.
The caller and his friends were all reunited with their respective parents or taken to places of safety.
The pickup was towed.
