On Saturday, October 8th, 2022, at 11:01 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported weapon offense that had just occurred at a residence in the 600 block of N First St, Turlock, after a group of three young men had been seen passing a firearm to one another after being told to leave a party that they were causing a disturbance at.

Officers had been provided a description of the three and while responding, spotted them at Broadway Park, 501 N Broadway. Officers made contact with them and they became passively resistive, however, eventually complied and were detained.

All three were identified, two were adults and the third was a 14-year old Hispanic male juvenile. The adults were identified as Iszach Gheith, 19, of Manteca, and Alejandro Perez Padilla, 24, of Turlock.

Officers began searching the area for the firearm and located it. It was determined to be what is commonly referred to as a ghost gun, meaning that it does not have a serial number which essentially makes it untraceable.

All three were arrested. Gheith was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or person addicted to a narcotic, carrying a loaded firearm, violation of probation, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, and committing an act which causes, tends to cause, or encourages a juvenile to become a delinquent, Padilla was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of carrying a loaded firearm, committing an act which causes, tends to cause, or encourages a juvenile to become a delinquent, and owning a firearm or firearm precursor part that does not bear a valid serial number or mark of identification, and the 14-year old Hispanic male juvenile was released on a citation on charges of carrying a loaded firearm.
