TID Appoints District Veteran to Interim AGM role

Turlock Irrigation District Interim General Manager Casey Hashimoto has appointed Robert M. Nees, a 31-year District veteran, to serve as Interim Assistant General Manager of Civil Engineering and Water Resources.

 
Effective November 8, Nees will assume the duties of Jeff Barton, who has accepted a position with Tennessee Valley Authority, an electric utility based in Knoxville, Tennessee.
 
The AGM of Civil Engineering and Water Operations position was listed as the 7th highest paying position at TID in 2009, paying $166,144 for the year.
 
In Nees’ new role, he will oversee the District’s Civil Engineering functions, the Don Pedro Recreation Agency, and water-related regulatory matters including water rights, aquatic studies, and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission license compliance. Nees currently serves as TID’s Director of Water Resources and Regulatory Affairs.
 
“With more than three decades of experience, Robert brings a broad background of management and a deep understanding of state and national water policy to the position,” said Hashimoto.
 
Nees holds a master’s degree in communications from Brigham Young University. He began his career with TID in1979 working in the field of legislative and public affairs.
