The Turlock Irrigation District Board of Directors will meet Tuesday to vote to declare some District property no longer necessary, authorizing some items for sale.
If this measure is approved by the Board, the TID Assistant General Manager of Water Resources will be authorized to sell District property that is possessed in surplus, such as vehicles and certain equipment, to the highest bidder, or at his discretion.
The items listed, declared as surplus, have an original value of $5,000 or more, and due to depreciation, some range in current estimated values from $50 to $10,000.
These items include lawnmowers, generators, water pumps, forklifts, dozers, excavators and vehicles, some of which are damaged, out of compliance or beyond useful life; others are included simply because of fleet reduction reasons.
Items deemed out of compliance for emission reasons include a 1999 CAT 322BL Excavator, valued currently around $10,000; a 1996 CAT 60E Forklift, currently valued around $3,000; and a 2001 water pump, currently valued around $750.
For example, a 1986 flatbed truck with tank with an estimated current value of $1500, a trencher with an estimated current value of $2000, and a CAT D5 Dozer with an estimated current value of $3,000, will all be put up for sale due to fleet reduction.
Additionally, the Board of Directors will meet to vote on a variety of other issues including:
- Approving applications for installations of side gates
- A resolution declaring some District property no longer necessary, authorizing some items for sale
The board will also hold a public rate hearing, as TID considers doubling irrigation rates for customers.
The TID Board of Directors will meet Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 9 a.m. in the Board Room of the TID Main Office Building, 333 E. Canal Dr.
