The westbound lane on Hawkeye Avenue is closed after a driver crashed into a home.

The driver drove through a fire hydrant and light pole at Palmer Drive and Hawkeye Avenue before crashing into the home.

According to Turlock Fire Battalion Chief Bill Becker, the home was not occupied at time of accident and no injuries have been reported.

The driver fled the scene after the accident, but the Turlock Police Department have him in custody, said Becker.

Some homes in the area may suffer from power outages for a brief time.
