Traffic light outage injures two after vehicle collision Friday night

On Friday, July 1st, 2022, at 11:54 pm, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of E Hawkeye Ave and Geer Rd, Turlock.

When crews arrived on scene, they found two vehicles involved. One was a silver Toyota SUV and the other was a gray Hyundai sedan.

The silver Toyota SUV had two occupants, both of which suffered minor injuries and refused to be transported to the hospital. The gray Hyundai sedan had a single occupant who did not suffer any injuries.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were deemed inoperable as a result of the collision, requiring them to be towed away.

It’s currently unknown how the collision occurred, however, the traffic lights at the intersection were out at the time of the collision due to a tree that fell onto power lines in the 0 block of Almond Ave about three hours prior. Power was restored shortly after the collision occurred.
