Early this morning, December 15, at just before 4am, Officer Ruiz conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle with out-of-state with plates for vehicle code violations.
It was later determined the vehicle’s registration had been expired for several years and in result, the vehicle was towed.
During a routine inventory search of the vehicle, officers located an assault short barrel rifle with an extra short barrel upper receiver, a loaded handgun, high-capacity magazines, a bullet proof vest, and hundreds of live rifle, handgun, and shotgun rounds.
The driver, Christopher Donahue, 34, from Turlock, was arrested and booked at the Stanislaus County Jail for various gun law violations.
