On Wednesday, August 17th, 2022, at 11:14 pm, a Turlock Police officer near QuikStop, 1260 Geer Rd, Turlock, observed a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so he made a traffic stop on it.

The officer made contact with and identified the vehicle’s two occupants, including driver Steven McThay, 34, of Salida.

When the officer had his dispatcher run McThay, it was discovered that he did not have a valid driver’s license, so he was arrested.

A search of McThay’s vehicle incident to arrest led to the discovery of about a pound of marijuana.

McThay was released on a citation on charges of driving without a valid driver’s license and possession of more than 28.5 grams of cannabis or eight grams of concentrated cannabis.
