Transient living in RV loses home to fire early Saturday morning

On Saturday, June 18th, 2022, at 12:18 am, the Turlock Fire Department was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire at Harbor Freight Tools, 2800 N Tegner Rd, Turlock.

A Turlock Police officer happened to be patrolling right around the corner and heard the commotion from where he was at, so he made his way over there. When he arrived, he found a recreational vehicle just barely pulled into the parking lot off the street with an active engine fire. Its owner was standing nearby and confirmed that no one else was in it.

By the time firefighters arrived on scene, the fire had spread to the rest of the RV and it was fully involved. Firefighters began fire attack and were able to bring the fire under control in about ten minutes.

Unfortunately, by the time the fire extinguished, everything in the RV was a total loss. The RV’s owner was a transient and he lived out of that RV. Everything he owned was gone.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
