Turlock Bulldogs Win Harvest Bowl for the First Time Ever

Over 9,000 people saw the Turlock High School Bulldogs win the Harvest Bowl for the first time during the five year city rivalry as they defeated the Pitman Pride 7-0.
The Harvest Bowl is the city rivalry that pits Turlock High School against Pitman High School. Every since its conception, the football game has packed Joe Debely Stadium at Turlock High.
This year, over 9,000 people showed up and people were turned away before the varsity game even started. This was the first Harvest Bowl that Turlock High School has won. Pitman won the first four.
With an ending score of Bulldogs 7, Pitman 0, you can bet it was all about the defense.
The Bulldogs lost leading rusher Tharon Gallegos early in the second quarter when he was hurt after being tackled on the Pitman 2 yard line.
Kevin Kramer, Bulldogs’ sophomore quarterback, scored the only touchdown of the game on a 2 yard run two plays after Gallegos left the game. Kramer is the back-up quarterback for the Bulldogs.
Derek Woods made some highlight worthy plays during his special teams effort. Woods put the Pride on their own 1 yard two times on punts. Woods also intercepted a Tyler Snodgrass pass early on in the game. Woods was also replacing the injured rusher Gallegos.
The Turlock Bulldogs are 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the CCC. The Pitman Pride are now 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the CCC.
