Turlock Chamber To Hold Ag Scholarship Luncheon

Pumpkin Patch Turlock- R.A.M. Farms, Inc.

Going into its 13th year with over $151,000 awards in student scholarships, the Turlock Chamber of Commerce Ag Luncheon provides financial help for local college-bound students interested in agriculture-related studies.

The scholarship program began in 2001, and has since given out 207 scholarships to students.

“The program benefits these students through scholarships,” said Sharon Berry of the Turlock Chamber of Commerce. “Whether they are planning to attend a CSU, a UC, or a junior college, so long as it is related to agricultural studies.”

Although the Chamber of Commerce has already chosen the recipients for their 2013 Ag Scholarships, the names of the students have not been released. These students will be awarded at the annual Ag Scholarship luncheon, where family and friends of the students are invited to celebrate the success of their college-bound student.

The 13th annual Ag Scholarship luncheon will take place on March 11 at the Turlock Turf Club, where the 2013 applicants will be awarded with their scholarships.

The Chamber of Commerce scholarship program has also awarded $76,000 to the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds to promote public education in the area of agriculture and to help sponsor the 4-H Farmyard Experience.
