Around this time last year the Turlock Gun Show saw attendance rise faster than a speeding bullet, up to 8,000 attendees – double the number from 2012 as gun buyers began holstering up as many guns as possible ahead of impending federal gun laws.

While the numbers may not be that high, expect another large crowd this year. There are often many different types of guns on show and for sale such as antiques, airsoft guns, and replicas too. Shows like this one are often the best place to pick up guns not found anywhere else, as well as the potential to get one of the Best airsoft gun deals from vendors.

The gun show, hosted by Code of the West Productions, begins this Saturday at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds, 900 North Broadway. The show runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Admission is $10 for adults and entry is good for both days. Children 12 and under are free, but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

The Turlock gun show will feature gun-related booths and vendors from organizations from all across the state.

Code of the West Promoter Rick Smith says the gun show will have about 200 tables of firearms or related components.

Strangely enough attendance for gun shows fluctuates with what is occurring nationally regarding gun rights, explains Smith.

“After Sandy Hook there was a huge rush on guns and ammunition but that has died down a bit now. Attendance has a lot to do with what is going on politically. There’s an old story about a joke on the Johnny Carson Show that toilet paper was running out and then in the next few days you couldn’t find toilet paper anywhere,” said Smith.
