Turlock Poker Room to Host DeepStacks Poker Tour

Turlock Poker Room & Casino will play host to some of the poker world’s top pros this week, as the DeepStacks Poker Tour holds its DSPT-Central California at the poker room from April 26 to May 4.

The May 2 $1,000 buy-in No Limit Texas Hold’Em Poker Main Event marks the first time the Turlock Poker Room has ever hosted a $1,000 buy-in event. It will be hosted by DeepStacks Poker Tour Director of Poker Operations and World Series of Poker bracelet winner Tristan “Cre8Ive” Wade. Pro poker players Jason Lee and Tim West will also play in the tournament.

The high stakes and star power are a big draw for local players, said Turlock Poker Room & Casino Director of Casino Relations, Mario A. Alvarez.

"Poker players from Turlock Poker Room & Casino and the entire Central California region have spoken: Partnering with DSPT, one of the premier poker tours in the world, gives the opportunity for the poker tournament community to play in a series structured by two of the best brands in the business," Alvarez said.

This is the fourth time Turlock Poker Room will serve as a stop on the international, highly acclaimed tour. After the stop in Turlock, the tour will head to Los Angeles, Calgary, Edmonton, London, and Malta.

Turlock Poker Room more than competes with those high-end locales, according to DeepStacks CEO and President Chris Torina.

“The staff is one of the best we deal with during the year and the room is awesome,” Torina said. “Their attention to details and professionalism is quite remarkable. They work hard and put out a great product to their local customers. In my opinion, I think Turlock is the best poker room in Central California, hands down.”

Last year’s DeepStacks Poker Tour Turlock Main Event was won by Jaime Esquivel, a Turlock resident and Turlock Poker Room regular who took down scores of poker pros – and took home a $10,500 prize for his $500 buy-in. More than $41,000 in total was given out in last year’s Turlock Main Event.

Along with the Main Event, seven smaller DeepStacks Poker Tour events will hit the Turlock Poker Room starting Saturday:

At 1 p.m. April 26, a $115 Main Event Mega Satellite Tournament
At 1 p.m. April 27, a $240 Main Event Mega Satellite Tournament, with a guaranteed $5,000 prize
