It's all about money for the Turlock Unified School District Board of Trustees this Tuesday.

The board is expected to hear how the California state budget might impact the district, discuss how to spend $5.9 million in state categorical funding, and consider spending a portion of the district's Education Protection Account on classroom teacher salaries.

Tuesday evening, the TUSD Board of Trustees is scheduled to:
– Recognize and congratulate all TUSD staff and students that were nominated for the 2013 Character Counts and Civility Program
– Receive information reviewing the effects of the May Revision of the 2013-2014 State Budget.
– Hear a presentation concerning the receipt of Tier III state categorical funding in the amount of $5,915,084. A public hearing will also be held following the presentation to gather information and testimony from the public regarding the receipt and use of the Tier III state categorical funding. Following the public hearing, the Board of Trustees will make a decision on authorizing the receipt of categorical funding for 2013-14, and the proposed use of funds as presented.
– Adopt the Education Protection Account spending plan, proposing a portion of the revenue limit identified as EPA funding be spent on for salaries and salary-related benefits for classroom teachers.
– Consider authorizing the Technology Department’s organizational plan, to help organize TUSD’s use and access to technology in a consistent manner.

The TUSD Board of Trustees meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Turlock High School Performing Arts Building, located at 1600 E. Canal Drive in Turlock.
