Turlock Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Turlock is going pink! Turlockers along with businesses and organizations around the city are getting involved to support the movement.

On Oct. 16, Emanuel Medical Cancer Center will be hosting its own event, Women’s Cancer Awareness Night Out. The night out will be headlined by Good Morning America’s Amy Robach, a breast cancer survivor herself.

The tickets are limited to 2 per person and can be reserved by calling toll free to 888-545-6979. You can also order online at EmanuelMedicalCenter.org. Tickets are free but must be reserved in advance.

The event will be held at Monte Vista Chapel, 1619 East Monte Vista Ave. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

In an effort to turn Turlock pink, Turlock Firefighters are continuing their annual fundraiser by not only turning their website pink, but also wearing and selling pink shirts during the month.

The shirts contain a new logo created by a local Turlock student and can be purchased at the Emanuel Hospital gift shop and online, offered by the Firefighters.

Get involved and bring awareness to the cause by taking a picture of how you are supporting the fight against breast cancer!

Send your pink shirt pictures taken around Turlock to turlock@turlockcitynews.com.
