Throughout the month of April, the Teen Advisory Council in Turlock will be accepting donated children’s books to donate to underprivileged students in the community.

Currently comprised of eight high school and middle school students from Turlock schools, the Teen Advisory Council helps provide activities for youth in the community. Throughout the year TAC members volunteer their time planning events to help community members get involved, too.

For the entire month of April, book donations will be accepted for drop off at the Parks and Recreation Department in Turlock, next to City Hall.

At the end of the month, Mark Crivelli, Senior Supervisor of the City of Turlock Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities, will join with TAC members to distribute the donated books to the Haven Women’s Center of Turlock as well as the Friends of the Turlock Library.

The Teen Advisory Council meets once a month to discuss various ways in which they can help volunteer their time to give back to the community of Turlock.

To drop off books for the book drive, or for more information about TAC, visit the Parks and Recreation Department at 144 S. Broadway in Turlock, or call (209) 668-5599.
