TUSD Student of the Month Honored

Osborn Two-Way Immersion Academy fifth grader Damian Gonzalez was honored with the Turlock Unified School District Character Counts Student of the Month award, after his teacher, Mrs. Enciso, chose him as an example for the character trait of respect.

Damian is regarded as a thoughtful and caring boy and as a leader, both in his class and in his home. He is a great big brother to a fellow Osborn third grader, kindergartner and two future Osborne students.

His favorite subjects in school are math and science. He says science opens doors to a world of information and he loves to learn about the wonders of the world around him.

In the coming years he looks forward to continuing his education at Dutcher Middle School, Turlock High School and then college. His dream is to one day become a U.S. Navy SEAL.

Damian spoke at last Tuesday’s Board of Trustees meeting and said respect includes consideration for other people and their belongings, caring for other people, treating others how you would like to be treated and manners. Also, he says that it is important to follow the rules at home and in school.
