Two arrested after being reported as suspicious people early Tuesday morning

On Tuesday, July 18th, 2023, at 4:41 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to reported suspicious persons at 1525 W Monte Vista Ave, Turlock, who were walking along the fence line of the construction site and had taken a sign off of the fence.

When officers arrived in the area, they located and contacted the three still nearby.

The three were identified, including Fawn Smith, 42, of Stockton, and Jorge Valenzuela 33, of Turlock.

When officers had their dispatcher run the three, they discovered that Fawn had a $500 local misdemeanor bench warrant for driving or leaving standing an unregistered vehicle, while Valenzuela was on searchable probation for trespassing on railroad property in a manner which would interfere with the safe operation of a train.

Smith was arrested while Valenzuela was detained so a probation search could be conducted. During the search, Valenzuela was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and ammunition.

Valenzuela was subsequently discovered to be prohibited from possessing ammunition. He was arrested.

Smith was released on a citation on her warrant, while Valenzuela was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation.
