Two arrested after man spots his stolen vehicle Friday evening

On Friday, December 31st, 2021, at 7:42 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported auto theft recovery at 76 DoubleTime, 101 N Tully Rd, Turlock, after the owner of a stolen white Nissan sedan spotted it at the location.

When officers arrived in the area, they spotted the vehicle at the gas station starting to leave. Officers got behind the vehicle as it left and followed it to Motel 6, 250 S Walnut Rd, where the ultimately conducted a high risk stop on it.

The vehicle’s driver and passenger were both taken into custody at gunpoint with no further incident.

The vehicle had been stolen earlier the same day out of Ceres. It was released back to the owner not wrecked, stripped, or burned. A license plate belonging to someone out of Denair was located on the vehicle. It is currently unknown if it was stolen or not.

The two subjects were booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on unknown charges.
