Two arrested in connection to early Sunday morning La Cantina drive-by shooting

On Sunday, November 14th, 2021, at 1:02 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported weapons offense that had just occurred at La Cantina, 142 S First St, Turlock, where two subjects in a red Ford pickup truck had just done a drive-by shooting on the bar.

The suspect vehicle’s description and last known direction of travel was relayed to responding officers and several began to saturate the area to look for it.

An officer checking S Golden State Blvd spotted the vehicle heading southbound near Golf Rd. The officer got behind it and attempted to make a traffic stop on it, however, the driver, later identified as Eduardo Saudeco, 29, of Winton, decided he did not want to stop and continued driving. A pursuit was initiated and Saudeco continued southbound on S Golden State Blvd, eventually merging onto State Route 99 and exiting at Bradbury Rd before stopping on the overpass.

A high risk stop was conducted and Saudeco and his passenger, later identified as Saul Lara Carrillo, 24, of Delhi, were taken into custody without further incident.

Both subjects were booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center, Saudeco on charges of discharging a firearm at an inhabited dwelling, flight from a peace officer, driving while intoxicated, and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 or greater, and Carrillo on charges on discharging a firearm at an inhabited dwelling and bringing contraband into a jail.

No injuries were reported. At least two shell casings were recovered at the scene.

The investigation remains on-going.
