Two Arrested in Drug Bust Near Turlock Elementary School

The Turlock Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Team (TNET) served a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of West Linwood, on December 20th, 2012. While searching the residence, detectives found methamphetamine packaged for sale, US currency, and a loaded stolen shotgun.

Detectives of TNET had been investigation 42-year-old Frank Manuel Diaz, of Turlock, throughout the month of December. Diaz was found out front of the residence when TNET detectives arrived on scene. Diaz was immediately arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of stolen property, and being armed while in the possession of narcotics, all of which are felony charges.

Detectives will also be seeking an additional enhancement since the crimes occurred within 1,000 feet of an elementary school.

25-year-old Sara Jean Taylor, also of Turlock, was found inside Diaz’s residence. She was also arrested and booked for felony possession of methamphetamine.

Detectives searched the residence later in the day to ensure the safety of school staff, students and the community. Both Diaz and Taylor were taken into custody without incident.
