Two Arrested on Array of Felony Charges and 19 Roosters Rescued

At about 1:40pm Monday, Turlock Police investigators arrived at a residence in the 200 block of Davis Street to conduct a federal probation search.

During the search, investigators located four firearms (two of which were reported stolen), narcotics for sale, 1,000 rounds of ammunition, and 19 roosters that were being used for illegal cockfighting.

Additionally, $2,700 was seized in asset forfeiture.

As a result, Kyle Clardy, 31, of Turlock, and Robert Mendoza, 42, of Modesto, were arrested.

Both were booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center, Clardy on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, and 19 counts of animal abuse, and Mendoza on charges of possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, carrying a loaded firearm, three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and receiving stolen property.
