On Tuesday, January 24th, 2023, at 10:46 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Walmart, 2111 Fulkerth Rd, Turlock, that possibly had subjects inside of it smoking drugs.

When officers arrived on scene, they found and made contact with both subjects still in the vehicle. They were identified as Matthew Detherage, 34, of Modesto, and Marissa Zabala, 33, of Turlock.

Detherage and Zabala were both arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center, Detherage on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale, forgery, conspiracy, and possession of methamphetamines, and Zabala on charges of forgery, conspiracy, and possession of a controlled substance.
