Two attempting to conceal items in hardware store arrested on narcotic charges and warrants Sunday morning

On Sunday, May 7th, 2023, at 8:56 am, Turlock Police officers near Harbor Freight Tools, 2800 N Tenger Rd, Turlock, got out with two subjects and their vehicle in the parking lot who matched the descriptions of subjects who had been concealing items on their persons in a different hardware store a short while prior but left without actually stealing anything.

The officers made contact with and identified the two subjects as Dustin Aue, 29, of Merced, and Randall Abbott, 30, of Merced.

When the officers had their dispatcher run the two, they discovered that they both had misdemeanor bench warrants. Aue had a misdemeanor one out of Modesto for possession of a controlled substance, while Abbott had five out of Stanislaus County and Modesto. The first was a $1,020 one for driving with a suspended driver’s license, the second was a $75,555 one for theft and possession of not more than 28.5 grams of cannabis or eight grams of concentrated cannabis, the third was a $75,555 one for theft, the fourth was a $75,555 one for theft, and the fifth was a $75,555 one for driving with a suspended driver’s license.

Both were arrested and searched incident to arrest. During the search of Aue, he was found to be in possession of narcotics.

Aue was released on a citation on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as his warrant, while Abbott was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrants.
