At about 10:32pm Thursday, Turlock Police Officer De La Cruz got out with two suspicious persons at Pedras Road and N. Golden State Boulevard.
De La Cruz had observed the two, who were wearing gang colors, hanging out near some fresh-looking gang graffiti.
De La Cruz made contact with and identified the two as Daymian Montalvo, 21, of Turlock, and a 13-year-old Hispanic boy.
When De La Cruz had his dispatcher run the two, he discovered Montalvo had a local misdemeanor bench warrant for obstructing or resisting a public officer. Montalvo was arrested.
During a subsequent pat-down search of the 13-year-old for weapons, De La Cruz located metal knuckles. The 13-year-old was also arrested.
It was later determined the graffiti wasn’t fresh and had been there since at least the afternoon.
Montalvo was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrant, while the 13-year-old was released to his mother on a citation for possession of metal knuckles.
