Two people stabbed as a result of a family fight Sunday night

On Sunday, January 31st, 2021, at approximately 8:05 pm, the Turlock Police Department received a call of a stabbing that had just occurred in the 4500 block of N Berkeley Ave. The caller reported that 2 family members were stabbed by another family member as a result of a fight that occurred earlier that day. The caller furthermore reported that the suspect had left the scene and was on his way to his residence in the 2800 block of Jubilee Dr.

A few officers responded to the scene on N Berkeley Ave and a few others responded to the suspect residence on Jubilee Dr. Officers who responded to the scene rendered medical aid to the two victims until and ambulance could arrive and transport them to the hospital where they were treated for their minor stab wounds, while officers who responded to the suspect residence detained 6 people without incident.

Throughout the course of officers’ investigation, officers reviewed evidence at the scene and surveillance camera footage from a neighbor across the street. Officers determined that there was probable cause to make an arrest on one of the detainees on Jubilee Dr, therefore, Jaskaran Singh, 23, of Turlock, was placed under arrest and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on two counts of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm likely to cause great bodily injury or death.
