On Friday, September 23rd, 2022, at 11:07 pm, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries in the 1000 block of East Ave, Turlock.
When crews arrived on scene, they found two vehicles involved. The first was a white Dodge pickup truck and the second was a white Toyota sedan.
The white Dodge pickup truck had two occupants. Its driver did not suffer any injuries, while its passenger was ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital with minor injuries. The white Toyota sedan had one occupant who suffered minor injuries and refused to be transported to the hospital.
The white Dodge pickup truck sustained moderate damage, while the white Toyota sedan sustained major damage. Both vehicles were deemed inoperable as a result of the collision, requiring them to be towed away.
Witnesses reported that the white Dodge pickup truck was traveling eastbound on East Ave from S Center St, while the white Toyota sedan was traveling westbound on East Ave from Minaret Ave. As the two vehicles approached each other in the 1000 block of East Ave, the white Toyota sedan reportedly made a left turn directly into the path of the white Dodge pickup truck while attempting to enter a parking lot. The front of the white Dodge pickup truck then collided with the front right side of the white Toyota sedan and pushed it a few feet to the east where both vehicles came to final rest.
