Two suspicious dumpster fires occur within days of each other at Monte Vista Crossings

On Friday, October 30th, 2020, at approximately 10:55 pm, the Turlock Fire Department received a call of a dumpster fire behind the Safeway located at 3051 Countryside Dr. Engine 34 was dispatched.

Engine 34 arrived on scene at approximately 11:00 pm to find a dumpster behind the business fully involved. Captain 34 assumed command and had his crew begin fire attack in the offensive strategy with a front bucket line. The fire was brought under control and fully extinguished shortly thereafter. Command was terminated and Engine 34 went clear and available.

A few days later, on Wednesday, November 4th, 2020, at approximately 10:10 pm, the Turlock Fire Department received a call of a dumpster fire behind the BevMo! located at 3218 Countryside Dr. Engine 34 was dispatched.

Engine 34 arrived on scene at approximately 10:15 pm to find a dumpster behind the business fully involved. Captain 34 assumed command and had has crew begin fire attack in the offensive strategy with a front bucket line. The fire was brought under control and fully extinguished shortly thereafter. Command was terminated and Engine 34 went clear and available.

Both fires are under investigation. A possible suspect description was provided for the first fire by a witness who was in the area. He described the possible suspect as a transient white male adult on a bicycle.
