Two teens arrested after cutting other teen with scissors Friday night

On Friday, September 9th, 2022, at 8:36 pm, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported aggravated assault that had just occurred at the intersection of N Soderquist Rd and W Canal Dr, Turlock.

When crews arrived on scene, they found a 17-year old boy suffering from a minor injury on his hand caused by a pair of scissors. He was ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital.

Two additional teenagers were responsible for the attack, a 15-year old and a 16-year old. Officers located them just minutes later in the 1400 block of Lambert Way and detained them to further investigation.

Eventually, both responsible teens were arrested and booked into Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall on charges of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.

All three teens knew each other and were present at the Turlock High School pool drowning just weeks prior.

The victim is a resident of a local group home that is reported as a runaway on almost a nightly basis. He was not reported as a runaway at the time of this incident, however, the group home attempted to report him as one shortly afterwards, not knowing what had transpired.

The investigation remains on-going.
