Unforthcoming Victim Arrives at Hospital With Gunshot Wound

At about 1:06am Monday morning, Turlock Police responded to an assault with a firearm at Emanuel Medical Center in the 800 block of Delbon Avenue.

The caller was security reporting that a patient had just come in with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and asked officers to investigate.

Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the victim, who reported that he and his three friends had been riding their mini-bikes from Atwater to Turlock. While on the outskirts of Turlock, the victim and his friends heard the sounds of gunshots and the victim felt pain in his leg.

The victim wasn’t very forthcoming and couldn’t provide any additional details, nor pinpoint exactly where this happened.

It should be noted that the victim was on probation out of Merced County for altering a firearm’s mark of identification.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information that could assist in it is encouraged to call Officer Martin Marquez at 209-668-1200.
